ABOUT ME
Hi ;)
My name is Patri
I live in Elda, my hometown in the southeast of Spain, where I have my own ceramic studio. In early 2025, I moved back here from Barcelona to fully dedicate myself to ceramics and to build a slower, more creative life surrounded by sun, plants, and family.
I currently work mainly with the pottery wheel and plaster molds, though I still handbuild whenever a piece asks for it. Everything I make is handmade, slowly and mindfully.
A little more about me:
I always wanted to study fine arts, but I ended up studying technical architecture because it was “a safe career choice.” Ironically, I never felt connected to that path. After graduating, the 2008 financial crisis hit, and the profession changed completely. I felt lost, so I moved to Barcelona, studied graphic design, and discovered the world of interior and product design. I was fascinated. It felt like a world I wanted to belong to.
Art has always been part of my life — sometimes quietly, but always present. It's what moves me, worries me, and grounds me. Eventually, I started working in interior design, and that’s where my love for functional, simple, and emotionally evocative objects began.
In 2020, the pandemic hit. I lost my job and found myself demotivated again. Creativity became my refuge. My sister recommended a small online ceramics course and I fell in love: clay allowed me to bring to life the ideas that had only existed in my sketchbooks.
I started with air-dry clay, but quickly felt the need to go further. I bought my first tools, took my pieces to a local studio to be fired, and shared the process on Instagram. People liked it. Slowly but surely, everything grew — the desire to create, to share, to experiment. I bought my first kiln and decided to take the leap and make this real, and professional.
What I make:
I create cheerful, original, and slightly surreal pieces. I love using decontextualized shapes and decorations — ideas that feel like dreams, yet somehow familiar. I'm inspired by metaphysics, the Mediterranean, nature, and geometry (a little gift from my architecture background).
I want my ceramics to feel like fragments of another universe. They’re tactile, expressive, sometimes playful, sometimes introspective. Just like me.
Fun ceramics for fun lives.
